The term “Hair Cycling” is a buzzy new trend that has been popularized by users on TikTok. It came about almost by chance after users realized they have subconsciously taken their skin cycling habits and transferred them to their hair care. The act of hair cycling involves adding a detox (or clarifying) shampoo to their routine and cycling in and out various products based on seasonality or their current hair needs.
The goal is to improve the function of your scalp and health of your hair by rotating products. Similar to skin cycling, hair cycling includes rest days where you allow the natural oils of your scalp to condition the hair.
